What is a Net?

An amateur radio net is a scheduled on-air gathering where operators check in to a net control station. Nets serve many purposes — from casual roundtable discussions to emergency communication drills and traffic handling.

How to Check In

  1. Tune to the net frequency at the scheduled time
  2. Listen for the net control station to call for check-ins
  3. When called, give your callsign clearly
  4. Follow the net control's instructions
